How to set a price for your house.
The best time to sell.
One of the first things you should do is look at your home as if you are a potential buyer! Examine the inside and outside, the things you like, vs the things you don’t like! See the changes you would like to make that you think would make your home more desirable to a buyer! However, before you start these long-winded and expensive projects, see what small but effective changes you can make to your home without it costing you a lot of money!
The first thing you should do is declutter anything in your home you do not need or use. Most people’s homes look “lived in,” including the possible home buyers. Before showing the home, make sure you go room by room and put or throw away things you don’t need. Show your house to the best potential possible! Changing out light bulbs can show your house in its fully lit potential as well! Along with physical cleaning, make sure your home is not holding any gross or pungent odors. Cleaning out or refurbishing things in your home are great first steps to getting your home, “sell ready!”
A big thing to prepare for as well that many people may not realize is to detach yourself from your home when selling it. It can be hard not to take things personally, especially in a place you have loved and lived in for so long! As proud as you might be about what makes your house your home, make it as easy as possible for them to feel like it could be their home.
